Reddit Marketing for Solopreneurs and Indie Hackers
By Vibeddit Team
As a solopreneur, you don't have a marketing team. You don't have a content calendar. You have you, and whatever time you can carve out between building, selling, and everything else. Reddit works differently when you're alone, and that's actually an advantage.
Time is your constraint, not a problem
You can't post three times a day. That's fine. Reddit rewards quality and consistency more than volume. One thoughtful comment a day is better than ten low-effort ones.
Pick one subreddit where your customers might be. Not five, not ten. One. r/indiehackers if you're building a product. r/solopreneur if you're running a service. r/freelance if that's your path. Go deep in one community instead of spreading thin across many.
Your story is your content
As a solopreneur, you have something bigger companies don't: a personal story. Share your journey. The problems you're solving, the mistakes you're making, the lessons you're learning. People connect with people, not companies.
The posts that do well from solopreneurs are the honest ones. "I launched my product and got zero signups" does better than "here's my perfect launch strategy." Show the real process, not the highlight reel.
Be consistent without burning out
Pick a schedule you can actually maintain. Maybe that's three comments a week. Maybe it's one post a week. Whatever it is, stick to it.
I set a calendar reminder. Twenty minutes every Tuesday and Thursday. That's all I commit to. Some weeks I do more, some less. But I never go more than a week without showing up.
Engage like a person, not a brand
You're not a brand. You're a person building something. Act like it in your comments and posts. Use your real name. Share real opinions. Disagree when you disagree.
The moment you sound like a company, people tune out. The moment you sound like someone genuinely trying to solve a problem, people listen. That's your advantage.
