Not every subreddit allows giveaways. Some have specific days for them. Some require moderator approval. Some ban them entirely.

Don't require too much
The best Reddit giveaways have simple entry requirements. Comment to enter. No follows, no shares, no signup needed. Complicated requirements turn people off and look like engagement manipulation.
Give away something relevant
Don't give away random prizes. Give away something your target audience actually wants. If you sell software, give away a free year. If you offer services, give away a free session. Relevant prizes attract relevant people.
Announce winners publicly
Post the winners in the thread. Thank everyone who entered. This builds goodwill and shows you're running a legitimate giveaway.
